Dr Khalid Al Madani, MPH, DSc, got his BSc title in Pharmacy from University of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, obtained a master degree in Public Health in 1979, a doctor degree in Nutritional Science in 1984 and got a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Nutrition, School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine from Tulane University, New Orleans, Louisiana, U.S.A. Dr Khalid Al Madani is certified as a Consultant Nutritionist since 1986 and is a guest lecturer in the Joint Programme of Family and Community Medicine in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and member of Arab Board of Family and Community Medicine since 1992. He was advisor and external examiner for numerous master and doctoral degrees in the field of Nutrition and is a reputed speaker of various national and international scientific events on this field. He served as member of Committee of Nutrition for Executive Board of Council Ministers of Health for the Gulf Co-operation States in 1997-1999 and was appointed in 2000 as general supervisor of the Nutrition Department, Ministry of Health, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Dr Al Madani represented KSA Ministry of Health in 1989-1999 at WHO, was WHO Temporary advisor in 1990-2004 and served as Public Health Consultant for the World Bank in 2013. He is currently the vice president of Saudi Society Food Sciences and Nutrition, member of the Advisory Board of the Bulletin of the National Nutrition Institute Cairo, Egypt, member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Food Safety, Nutrition and Public Health, member of American Dietetic Association and board member of the International Life Science Institute for Middle East. Dr Al Madani published numerous scientific papers in the international peer review journals and is author and co-author of more 44 arabic books on food and nutrition for health professionals and general public.
