Dr. Alromaihi obtained her MD degree with Honors distinction from Arabian Gulf University in 2004. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine in 2009 at Henry Ford Health System- Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan after which she spent a year teaching Internal Medicine to medical residents as a Chief Medical Resident. She then completed her fellowship in Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism also at Henry Ford Health System- Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Alromaihi has the American Board Certification in Internal medicine and Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism. Dr. Alromaihi practiced as a consultant Endocrinologist at Yuma Regional Medical Center in Arizona, USA. She moved back to Bahrain in 2014 and joined King Hamad University Hospital as a Consultant Endocrinologist and Program Director of Saudi Board Internal Medicine residency program. She is also serving as a senior clinical lecturer at the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland – Bahrain and was awarded the best senior clinical lecturer in 2016. Dr. Alromaihi has a passion for medical education and conducted several workshops for medical students and primary care physicians alongside with a series of talks targeting patient educations to the public. She was awarded a Guiness Book record in Novemer 2017 for the world’s largest diabetes awareness lesson. She is a member of the American Diabetes Association and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology and the American Endocrine Society and Bahrain Diabetes Society. She has several publications in the fields of general medicine, medical education and clinical endocrinology and she continues to be actively involved in research. Dr. Alromaihi is a member of the national committee for controlling non-communicable disease under the ministry of health and she is a member in several committees at the National Health Regulatory Authority to participate in furthering the medical care of patients in Bahrain.
