Dr Aseel AlSaleh, PhD, BSc (hon), RNutr is an accomplished registered nutritionist specialized in obesity and diabetes in relation with genetics. She got her BSc title in Human Nutrition in 2006 from King’s College London, Diabetes & Nutritional Sciences Division, School of Medicine. Working towards her PhD she extensively researched the effect of diet and gene interaction in determining metabolic syndrome risk factors, where she was the lead researcher in two multi centre genetics studies in the UK. She has then published the findings in top ranking scientific journals and her research is heavily cited. In 2012 her PhD research was recognized by the Nutrition Society as the UK’s best research work for that year and she was awarded PhD in Nutritional Science by King’s College London. Dr AlSaleh got then in 2014 a clinical research degree from Harvard Medical School. She joined Hammersmith Hospital Imperial College London, School of Medicine, as Nutritionist and Research Associate. Before coming to Bahrain in 2018, she led there cutting edge research in the prevention of diabetes in the UK. Besides her teaching activity at Arabian Gulf University, Dr AlSaleh continues her research and clinical practice emphasizing on the importance of nutrition for health and longevity.
