This course has been developed to recognise learners’ skills, knowledge and understanding of Information and Communication Technology functions, environments and operations. The learners carry out a range of tasks that have been designed to recognise their achievements in a modern, practical way that is relevant to the future workplace. ICT packages we use in the academy include Microsoft (MS) Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Access, amongst other packages. We also use cameras, video cameras and other digital media tools.
These qualifications specifically aim to:
- Develop learner's knowledge and understanding of ICT.
- Develop learner's skills, knowledge and understanding in contexts that are directly relevant to employment situations, thereby enhancing their employability within ICT.
- Develop learner's ability to work independently and effectively in ICT.
How will this qualification be assessed?
All units are centre-assessed and externally moderated by OCR but there are no timetabled exams. The full award and units from this qualification are graded as Pass, Merit or Distinction. In more simple terms, a Pass equates to a G.C.S.E. grade C, a Merit a grade B, and a Distinction a grade A.
