Westerings is committed to promoting the values of being British, as required by the government.
British Values are defined under the Ofsted guidance as:
'promoting tolerance of and respect for people of all faiths (or those of no faith), cultures and lifestyles; and support and help, through their words, actions and influence within the school and more widely in the community, to prepare children and young people positively for life in modern Britain'.
The government defines these values as:
- Rule of law
- Individual liberty
- Mutual respect
- Tolerance of those of different faiths
We run regular assemblies, lessons and activities to promote these values. More information about British Values, SMSC, 'Prevent' initiative and other policies can be found in our policies section, here.
