Easter Activity Week
Monday and Tuesday: Designing and beginning to make our own kites from waterproof materials. We used our knowledge of 2D shapes when creating our designs.
On Wednesday we had great fun flying our amazing kites even though there was hardly any wind!
We had a special visit from a spring lamb. We all enjoyed feeding him and learning about where he lives.
The children heard the Easter story, acted it out and sequenced it. They then thought about how key characters may have felt and why. They wrote ‘big’ and ‘little’ questions about the story and talked about how food is an important part of celebrations, both religious and non-religious.
On Thursday, the children baked made some Easter themed cakes using Shredded Wheat and chocolate. Each was topped off with a little chick.
We made Easter themed cards using feathers to decorate.
The children also made their own chicks using stitching techniques on felt, feathers and of course googly eyes!
