How to apply

How to apply for the Schools Direct Programme

All applications are made through the UCAS Website for Essex Teacher Training School Direct Programmes.

If you are already working in a school and thinking of applying then you should discuss with your head teacher whether the school might be willing to support your application by acting as a host school.

The UCAS code for Essex Teacher Training is E75. If you enter this into the UCAS search tool it will bring up a list of all of the courses we offer for both SCITT and School Direct.

Schools Direct

Applicants interested in Schools Direct places need to apply directly to the schools via the UCAS Website selecting the lead school as the provider ‘Academies Enterprise Trust and Tendring TSA Alliance: Eastern (UCAS code 2CG)’. (see below for the schools linked to our Tendring Teaching School Alliance)

School Direct places may be either unsalaried (the training programme is very similar to the SCITT programme but recruitment is led by the school) or salaried (reduced training programme and often a greater teaching commitment earlier in the programme). Applicants can search for available places by searching for Essex Teacher Training, lead school name, subject or location.
