Red Nose Day

Friday 15 March 2019

Red Nose Day 2019 is just around the corner and we’ve decided to join in the fun.

To raise money, we’re going to…

  • Sell Red noses

• Have a non-school uniform day with the theme of silly hair

• Have a bake sale

• Sponsorship for smiling

We will have a non-school uniform day on the day with the theme of silly hair. This may be a wig, some crazy hair dye or a crazy style. There will be a prize for the funniest hair do. Please contribute £1 for this.

Red noses are now in school and we will be selling them for £1.25 each.

We will also be holding a bake sale. If you like to bake please get your aprons on and start baking away. If not you could always donate some shop bought cakes for us to sell. Cakes will be sold from 20p each. If you would like to send your child in with some money for them to buy some cakes in the afternoon that would be great!

One of our biggest ways to raise money is by asking your child to get involved with sponsorship. This year we would like children to get involved with a sponsored SMILE! We would like all children (and staff) to aim to smile for at least 10 minutes throughout the day in 1 minute stints (try it, it’s actually quite hard). With 55 children and 38 staff, we could get 920 minutes of smiles in total, what a happy school we would be.

The money we raise will be used to change countless lives, both here in the UK and worldwide.

In fact, just £3 could pay for crayons, pencils, paint and paper for children living in a Serbian refugee camp. And £10 could cover the cost of 10 hot meals for a homeless person in the UK.

We’ll also be using Red Nose Day as a learning opportunity to help our pupils explore the issues facing young people across the world, and how the money we raise can help.

We really appreciate your support and hope that you’ll have fun helping us raise lots of money for Red Nose Day.

Stephen and Harvey both had a great time at the HALT (Human and Animals Learning Together) Project. They focused on developing their confidence and self-esteem. Have a look at the photos!
