This week in the Ocean room we have been busy making Easter cards the children have been very creative. The children have become keen bakers making cakes ready to sell at the Easter Eggstravagansa. We hope to see lots of you here as we will have a range of yummy cakes that your children have made on sale.

This week in the Ocean room we have been making cards and gifts for Mother's Day. We have been talking about the important of our family and that everybody's family is different. Some of the children made cards for their Mums others for Nans, carers or other family members.

This week in the Ocean room we have been doing lots of messy play.
We have been making bright colourful pictures using shaving foam, paint and flour. The children have been busy creating roads by rolling their cars around in paint. Some of the seahorse children have been busy making their own brightly coloured play doh The children have been getting very messy mixing everything together but lots of fun has been had by all.

This week in the Ocean Room, inspired by the sunshine, Spring has come early. The children have been talking about new life and new beginnings. We have been decorating pots in readiness for planting and painting and creating flowers, to give as gifts. We have also enjoyed some shared play and are learning to and improving our turn taking and problem solving skills.

This week in the Ocean Room we have been making valentines biscuits. We have talked about caring for others and sharing. We have encouraged the children to give the biscuits as a gift. They have followed instructions and shared equipment and carefully decorated them with family and friends in mind.

We've had another busy week in the Ocean Room. Seahorses have been getting creative with some junk modelling. Starfish class have been making some decorations ready for the xmas tree. We've been following instructions to make our own yummy festive treats. We've been discussing differences at Christmas and how religion, tradition, culture and other influences can have an impact on how people celebrate Christmas or not.

This week in the ocean room we have been getting ready for children in need. The children have made spotty hats and ties. The children have also been busy making and decorating cakes for our cake sale on Friday. The children have shown great empathy for people who are less fortunate then themselves.

his week in the Ocean Room we have been listening to and following instruction. We have made our own Pizzas, including the base from scratch, the children have shown some fantastic cooking skills, a couple have said they would love to be a chef when they grow up! We think they look amazing! Watch this space Masterchef.

This term in the Ocean room we are working with starfish and seahorses on their chosen topic, celebrations. We have done some printing with bright colours and glitter to make some amazing firework pictures. We have had a group discussion on how to keep ourselves safe during this fun celebration.

We have add a few WOW moments in the Ocean Room this week. The children have really gone the extra mile with their activities and have shown how with this extra effort they can produce something special. We have also made a good start on our friendship wall whilst having discussions about the importance of friendships and what makes a good friend

This week in the Ocean Room we have been getting to know each other with making friends activities. We've also enjoyed lots of cooking, including chocolate brownies and cheesecakes, during which the children have worked together in small groups, following instructions and sharing equipment.

Things have taken a chilly turn in the Ocean Room this week. The children have been learning about winter and how hard it can be for some wildlife to find food. The children have enjoyed making bird feeders which we have hung in the school grounds to help the birds through the winter. We have created a snowy road to push our vehicles around. Some of the children have created snowy snowman friends for our Winter board. Last weekend we soaked 250.000 water beads. The children were amazed how much water the beads absorbed and how they had grown so big in size they have been very popular both as a sorting sensory activity.

This week in the Ocean Room we have been thinking about helping others. We have spent time talking about giving to others, we have talked about the upcoming children in need and started to bake cakes ready for a cake sale on Friday which a will raise money for the worthily cause. We have painted Pudsey bear faces. The Ocean Room children have been getting messy this week making swamp slime. The children have enjoyed putting small animals and their hands in the sticky mixture.

This week in the Ocean Room we have been planting our pots, we have also been planting mustard seeds to nurture and grow. Everyone has enjoyed our sensory rice tray and we have seen some fantastic creative play and enjoyed some meaningful conversations.
