Things have taken a chilly turn in the Ocean Room this week. The children have been learning about winter and how hard it can be for some wildlife to find food. The children have enjoyed making bird feeders which we have hung in the school grounds to help the birds through the winter. We have created a snowy road to push our vehicles around. Some of the children have created snowy snowman friends for our Winter board. Last weekend we soaked 250.000 water beads. The children were amazed how much water the beads absorbed and how they had grown so big in size they have been very popular both as a sorting sensory activity.

This week in the Ocean Room we have been thinking about helping others. We have spent time talking about giving to others, we have talked about the upcoming children in need and started to bake cakes ready for a cake sale on Friday which a will raise money for the worthily cause. We have painted Pudsey bear faces. The Ocean Room children have been getting messy this week making swamp slime. The children have enjoyed putting small animals and their hands in the sticky mixture.
