Changing Trends and fashion
At Tendring Technology College we have a formal working atmosphere and therefore retain the right to veto any garment or accessory brought into College; these maybe confiscated and returned directly to parents.
Students attending College without the correct uniform will be provided, whenever possible with loan items for the day which they will be expected to wear to comply with the College policy.
Daily Uniform Requirements
College Tie - Compulsory for Year 7 – Year 10. Year 7 gold stripe tie with College woven motif, Year 8 silver stripe tie with College woven motif, Year 9 red stripe tie with College woven motif, Year 10 gold stripe tie with College woven motif and Year 11 green stripe (from September 2018).
Blazer - Plain black blazers with the College logo (boys and girls).
Shirt - Plain white shirt with collar, buttoned at the neck and tucked inside the skirt or trousers, (no sports or polo shirts or fashion styles) long or short sleeve.
Skirt - Compulsory for Year 7 – Year 10. College knee length tartan skirt, only available from our online supplier Anglia (from September 18).Year 11 may continue to wear the College black skirt available from Anglia. Tube skirts and tight fitting skirts are not permitted in College.
Trousers - Compulsory for Year 7 – Year 10. College grey trousers available from our online supplier Anglia. Year 11 may continue to wear the black trousers available from Anglia. (from September 18). (No design or fashion features. No jeans, cords, shorts, leggings or form fitting trousers are permitted in College)
Footwear - Plain black, low heeled shoes with full fronts and backs. No trainers, canvas shoes or boots.
Socks / Tights - Black or white plain socks, neutral or black tights.
Jumper or Cardigan - If students wish to wear a jumper or cardigan under their blazer, it will have to be a College jumper or cardigan with the correct colour stripe for their year group. These can be purchased from our on line supplier Anglia.
Outdoor coat - A plain dark coat. Jumpers, cardigans, outdoor coats, hooded tops are not to be worn instead of blazers. Students wearing unsuitable outdoor wear are required to leave it in a secure place throughout the College day.
Make-up / Nails - Must not be worn at Thorpe Campus, false, gel or varnished nails are not permitted.
Jewellery / Body Piercings - A wrist watch and/or a pair of small plain ear-studs only may be worn. Nose studs, lip studs and tongue piercings are not allowed. Jewellery must be removed for PE or Technology. Tendring Technology College does not accept responsibility for these items. Inappropriate jewellery may be removed from students and returned directly to parents.
Facial Coverings - Facial coverings are not permitted.
Please note that the following are regarded as inappropriate:
- Polo shirts
- Hooded tops
- Jeans and cords

Tendring Technology College
P.E Uniform Policy
It is departmental policy for all students to wear the correct Tendring Technology College P.E. uniform. This includes:
Girls indoor: White polo shirt with TTC logo, black shorts with TTC logo, white ankle socks and trainers (no converse or plimsolls).
Girls outdoor: Black rugby shirt*, black shorts with TTC logo/black tracksuit bottoms, black socks with TTC logo, trainers (no converse or plimsolls) and football boots (Year 7).
Boys indoor: White polo shirt with TTC logo, black shorts with TTC logo, white ankle socks and trainers (no converse or plimsolls).
Boys outdoor: Black rugby shirt*, black shorts with TTC logo, black socks with TTC logo and football boots (we strongly advise a gum shield for rugby and hockey).
