25/03/19 SHLA in the Community
As part of the Sapphire House Community Project, five students visited the Water Hall Care Home. The students met Dolly a 101-year-old woman and were amazed by her telegram from the queen. They also helped make and serve coffee while chatting to a number of residents.
However, the highlight was when two students who speak Bengali met with a lovely lady who speaks little English and is unable to converse in the home. She was very emotional speaking to the girls. The students and Sapphire House are now raising money to buy a tablet to allow the residents and staff to translate what they want to say into Bengali.
They were all wonderful ambassadors for our school and they have invited the women across to the open day at the animal care department.
