World Book Day

We love reading!

We enjoy reading and love to go into our school library.

Ancient Greece

This is our new topic and we are really enjoying finding out all about it!

We have been using QR codes, iPads and a variety of books to research all about the ancient Greeks. We made a mind map showing all the information we had found out. In our art lessons we have been copying from images of Ancient Greek vases. We used water colour and ink pens to create the effect of an ancient vase.

Chinese New Year

We enjoyed learning all about Chinese New Year.

We did lots of research, writing and reading. We made a mask and a dragon then we tried to write our name in Chinese.

At lunchtime we had a Chinese meal with prawn crackers and we had chopsticks too!

Christmas Celebrations

In our class we have been having so much fun, decorating our classroom, writing about Jack Frost, making gift boxes, tree decorations, cards and calendars. We have even found the time to make Christmas biscuits too!

We had a great time dressing in our party clothes, having our Christmas lunch and playing party games.

In our Design and Technology lessons we all made a puppet. Some of us found the sewing a little tricky but great fun!

In RE we have been learning about Hinduism and Diwali.

We found out many interesting facts and we made a Diwali Diva Lamp.

Pumpkin Competition

Well done to all of you who took part.

You all made such a creative and fantastic pumpkin.

The winner in Year 3 was Antonina, well done!

Spanish Day

We all thoroughly enjoyed the day. We found out lots of interesting facts about Spain. Then we thought of lots of questions for our Spanish teacher Mr Ruiz.

In our geography lesson we found out about how Harvest is celebrated around the world. We looked at a map of the world and found out where our food comes from. On our wreath we wrote some facts about Harvest and what we do in our Harvest Assembly at our school. We collect food from home and donate it to Cudworth Food Bank.

In our art lesson we made a hedgehog using salt dough.

Roald Dahl Day 2018

We had such fun celebrating! We found out many interesting facts about Roald Dahl. We made collages of some of the different characters, watched The BFG film, read different Roald Dahl books, wrote about him, made bookmarks and we even had cakes to celebrate.

Our Reading Corner

Stone Age to the Iron Age

We have really enjoyed looking at different artefacts and carrying out lots of research. In our art lesson we made drawings of cave paintings. We did this under our tables to pretend we were inside a cave.

We have a research area which has books, information and QR codes to help us find out more about the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age.

Safety Day 2018

In Year 3 we watched a video about how to cross the road safely and wrote all about it. We completed a quiz about it then we made a road safety poster to help younger children understand road safety.
