September 2015 marked the start of an exciting time for Ryde Academy when ‘Head of the Year’ Joy Ballard joined as the Principal.
Across the first year, GCSE attainment increased from 37% to 54%. Ofsted recognised these massive improvements when they rated the academy as ‘Good’ in November 2016.

Teacher of Science MPR / UPR (£23,720 – £39,406)
Are you a self-motivated, inspirational teacher of Science looking for a new challenge?
We are seeking a new teacher to join our good and rapidly improving Academy.
The ideal candidate will be ambitious, aiming for excellence, and possess the drive and ambition to ensure each individual student fulfils their potential.
- You should have a strong track record of raising attainment and achievement of every student in the subject or the ability to demonstrate you are developing outstanding practice, if an NQT.
- Be a passionate advocate of the subject who contributes effectively to departmental and whole school improvement.
- Have the ability to teach across the age and ability range at of 11-16.

Working at Ryde Academy
The Isle of Wight is located between Portsmouth and Southampton and is separated from the mainland by the Solent. The Island is an average of between two to four miles from the mainland and is easily accessible by regular travel links from Portsmouth Southampton and Lymington.
