Singing at The Hockley Day Centre

As a 'warm up' before their performance at The Infant Music Festival, Mrs Bolton's Class entertained at the Hockley Day Centre. Following their great performance, the pupils were treated to squash and biscuits while they chatted with their audience.

Following their performance, Mrs Bolton received this e-mail from the club secretary...

'Thank you so much for bringing your Choir along to the Centre to Entertain us this afternoon. Everyone enjoyed their singing so much and one lady wanted to know if they could come every week. There is nothing like small children singing to bring tears to your eyes and we were all overwhelmed. They certainly did you credit. It must have taken such expertise and patience to get them to this stage. We hope you will visit us again soon and next time I promise we will sort out the CD player beforehand. It was so embarrassing! However, we did get there in the end and had a thoroughly wonderful afternoon’s Entertainment.'

Travelling by Tuba!

The Travelling by Tuba Company visited Years Foundation through through to Year 4 when they came to Plumberow!

Travelling by Tuba is one of the UK’s busiest and most successful classical music duos. Formed twenty-one years ago, they now perform in excess of 200 concerts a year, playing venues such as the Barbican Centre and The Bridgewater Hall. They have recorded three CDs and they have appeared regularly on BBC Radio and television and for many of the independent networks.

Travelling by Tuba has developed a highly successful award-winning education programme suitable for children of all ages. It has been featured on Channel 4 and in the Times Educational Supplement. Recently, they commissioned a childrens’ operetta ‘The Tuba Has Landed’ from the composer Robin Grant which had six performances as part of a year-long project in Blackpool schools!
