Welcome to Offa's Mead Primary Academy
Thanks for visiting our site.
We are extremely proud of the remarkable children here at OMA and work hard to ensure we provide them with the very best academic, social and emotional learning opportunities every single day.
We are a vibrant Primary Academy, proud to serve the Sedbury, Beachley and Chepstow communities. Our children are encouraged to participate fully in school life and to be responsible for contributing to an ethos where every member feels valued, respected and has a sense of purpose. The school recognises the importance of partnership and wants parents to play an active role in their child’s development throughout their primary years.
Our children start their academic journey in the school year in which they are five years old, when they join our Foundation Stage. As an AET academy, at OMA our mission is pure and simple: to enable our pupils to lead remarkable lives. This is the golden thread that binds us all together – the reason that despite our very different paths to OMA, we are all part of one family.
There are currently 5 amazing classes in our brilliant Academy;
Reception/yr1 - Owl Class
Yr1/2 - Puffin Class
Yr3/4 - Swift Class
Yr4/5 - Heron Class
Yr5/6 - Kingfisher Class
Our classes are mixed age groups which allows for stretch and challenge as well as support and nurture, ensuring every child's journey is appropriate to their own needs. Each class has a maximum of 30 children.
The majority of our Year 6 pupils will transfer to Wyedean Secondary School which we share very close links with.
We have 5 full-time teachers and an experienced SENDCO here at the Academy and the children are also supported by teaching assistants, administration staff, caretaking staff, cleaning staff and lunchtime staff. All our staff go the extra mile to ensure the pupils are happy, confident and enthusiastic learners thriving in a climate where they feel safe and secure.
Our Remarkable Poem
Here at Offa’s Mead, the sky is the limit. Our potential will soar above the clouds. A flock of birds, gliding amongst the helicopters. Pristine, purple and proud.
Our smiles connect our friendships like the Severn Bridge itself. Beneath it, the barracks standing strong. The ideas, and the years, are flowing like the river: A symbol of the community where we belong.
On Thursdays, we’re happy and harmonious, With melodies and medleys to round off our day. And then it’s Fishy Friday - and we all lick our lips. When we’re always served fantastic fish & chips.
Twice a day the playground becomes a zoo! Orangutans, and cheetahs, and sloths and monkeys too. Read more...
Our ‘Regulation station’ sorts the colours in our brain. As we focus in the classroom, there’s so much to gain.
And just from one glance, we can see our future beyond us. Aspirations of Wydean, across the street. None of us are certain what our futures will behold - But at Offa’s Mead, we’re bold...there’s always more to unfold!
Our diversity unites us together as one. Growing as a family, laughter as we learn. Sweet purple jelly babies - giggling with flavour! Ready to take the world at every turn!
These marvellous memories will always stay - and we’ll always belong to O.M.A.

Please view the slideshow to learn how we are keeping safe when the school reopens on Monday 8th March!
We ask that all parents wear face masks and continue to socially distance at drop-offs and collections on the school site.
