We use the following materials to make assessment judgements in each of the core and foundation subjects, each half term. They act only as a guide, as staff value standards in books, ability to articulate & answer/ask questions and performance in accurate tests far higher when judging where children are in relation to their age-related expectations - this, and more, is shown below:
Children will be judged to be either 'emerging', 'developing' or 'secure' within their year group. eg A child in year 3 will be either a 3E, a 3D or a 3S. The general expectation would be for a child to be 'emerging' during the autumn term, 'developing' in the spring and 'securing' their understanding of their year's curriculum by the summer term.
