Mother
As the winds get warmer and the seas become more polluted,
Mother is getting sicker by the moment.
While wildfires begin to slowly cover the forest in a red shade of doom,
Mother is getting sicker by the moment.
The Arctic is melting, the Antarctic’s animals are being murdered,
Mother is getting sicker by the moment.
Thrashing storms leaving houses wrecked
And slowly the streets begin to look like a garbage bin
and the animals slowly go extinct,
Mother is getting sicker by the moment.
My older brothers and sisters have all heard our Mother,
but we refuse and ignore her demands.
We don’t want Mother to die,
but I cannot do this on my own.
It is as simple as stopping fossil fuel,
using renewable energy,
planting more trees,
stop buying things we don’t need,
It will cost you nothing
to save Mother.
Mother has told us what will help her get better,
Am I the only one who understands?
