Wolves - Y5
Welcome to Wolves!
Thank you for visiting our class page.
Meet the Wolves
Welcome to the ‘WOLVES’ home page. Our class teacher is Miss Lewis and our teaching assistant is Mrs Good. You will see us on the playground every morning from 8.40am if you have any questions or messages.
Our P.E. times this term are Mondays and then Wednesdays . This is because we are currently taking advantage of an offer from the Children's University on our Arts; this includes Dance, singing (including sign language), Drama and performance. It is, however, recommended that pupils keep their P.E kit in school at all times as we often have extra P.E. sessions such as Freddy Fit.
Please ensure that your child's book bag and home reading book are brought to school every day as we will aim to read with your child at least 3 times a week. Please sign and date if you have heard your child read at home to enable us to change their book when they need to. Reading records will be checked and your child will change their book on a weekly basis. They will have a Home Reading book and also a book to read for pleasure.
Homework will be handed out on a Friday to be returned on a Tuesday. You can also help your child by reading daily and signing your child's home - school reading record and practising times tables and weekly spellings.
Vikings v. Anglo Saxons
In Wolves, our topic this term is Vikings v. Anglo Saxons. This will be a History focus topic but will also include many aspects of the curriculum such as Reading, Writing, Art, DT, Geography, Media, Computing and British Values. This will be evidenced in our amazing Theme books that will demonstrate pupils' Independence, Creativity, Collaborative work and their individual Expression of their work through our ICCE Curriculum.
What have the Wolves been learning?
We are about to begin our Dual diaries on Anglo Saxons v Vikings.
In Maths, we are looking at Investigating Number Systems including place value of whole and decimal numbers, Roman numerals and rounding of whole and decimal numbers.
Here you will find some useful links to websites which will help you with your homework.
Homework will be handed out every Friday and, unless stated otherwise, is expected in on a Tuesday so that it can be marked and returned. Any homework received after a Tuesday is still very welcome.
