Welcome to Ladybirds!
We may be the youngest children in the school but we want to show you that we do the most learning! Each day we have the opportunity to take part in Maths, Literacy and phonics activities as well as exciting ongoing provision to help us learn through our play. We never stop!
Please take some time to look at our exciting adventures and you never know you may learn something new too!
Thank you for coming to visit our page.
Mrs Mace (Nursery Teacher)
The Ladybirds have settled into school life, staying full days now.
We keep ourselves very busy...
This term our topic is 'The Animal Kingdom'. This half term we are trying to answer our big question, Where do animals live? So far we have looked at the similarities and differences between different jungle animals and looked at which animals live in the jungle.
We have read Elmer stories and experimented with colour mixing.
One of our theme days was based on Handa's Surprise, we got to try all the different fruits from the story.
Our first 'Talk for Writing' story is 'Dear Zoo', we have made up actions and used signifiers to retell the story and we have written letters to the zoo to ask for our own pets.
Today we have had the fantastic opportunity to see, touch and feel some incredible creatures.
This week we have been learning about sea creatures, we sorted which animals lived in the water and which lived on land. We found out a whale is the largest animal in the world! We read the 'Rainbow Fish' and discussed how to be a good friend. .
After half term we will be learning about farm animals!
Please have a look at the Foundation Stage Newsletter at the bottom of the page. Thank you!
