Why choose this resort?

Located in the scenic surroundings of British Columbia, Panorama offers over 2800 acres of terrain ranging from wide open fall-line cruisers to powder-filled tree lines. In 2015, Panorama added a new quad chairlift allowing our students to access new runs designed to offer beginner to intermediate skiers even greater options. Panorama is known for its immense mountain, but it's the smaller-by-design village that really sets the resort apart. Famous for its hot pools overlooking the base of the mountain, Panorama mountain village is one of the Canadian Rockies’ premier skiing destinations.

On the Slopes

Within its impressive 4,000 vertical feet, Panorama offers plenty of blue and green runs for beginners and intermediates to navigate, along with an impressive range of black runs for the more advanced skiers. Formerly classed as backcountry, those seeking the test of black-diamond runs will enjoy the rush found at Taynton Bowl. Now patrolled, the 700 acres of black runs is a great choice for those chasing powder stashes and Panorama’s biggest challenge. Across the 120 named trials there is an even split of beginner and expert runs. Intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders will enjoy a wider choice of trails with 55% of Panorama geared towards those who have perfected their parallel turns.

Pocket Money

It is the parent/carer's decision in which form you prefer your child to have their pocket money. The student can either use;

  1. *Travel Money Card (preferred option)
  2. Personal Debit card (please check restrictions with your bank)
  3. Cash

*Students could obtain a ‘Travel Money Card Plus’ prepaid Mastercard from the Post Office and charge the card up with their spending money to use on a daily basis. This is a safe, secure and convenient way to take travel money abroad. It works in the same way as a Debit card, there are no hidden charges and can be replaced if lost or stolen. The cards can also be ‘topped up’ online if necessary. Each card is issued with a personal pin number and can also be used at an ATM machine. For more information about the Travel Card plus visit Terms and conditions state that the occupier needs to be 18 years old. Therefore it is your decision whether you are happy for your child to carry a card in your name.

A maximum of $100 (CAD) should be brought into the academy prior to the departure date. This money will be used in the case of an emergency if any debit card/Travel Card/money is lost. This money will be kept by the Party Leader and returned to the student on the last morning before we depart for the return journey. Students will need a small amount of English money to buy a snack/breakfast at Heathrow on the outward journey if they wish.

Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA)

All students will require an electronic travel authorisation (eTA) to travel to Canada. For more information about the eTA system, and to apply online, visit the official Canadian government website ( You will need to have your passport number to hand when you apply, please note that the visa costs $7 CAD.

The visa is valid for a period of 5 years therefore if you have travelled to Canada in the past five years then you will not require a new eTA unless you have changed your passport. If you are unsure whether a current eTA is valid then you may also check your current application.
