Year 9 Careers Day

During the first half of the summer term, Year 9 students took part in the Careers Options Programme organised by Rochford District Council. This gave them an excellent opportunity to consider what they might do when they leave school as they took part in a variety of activities including the NHS and the construction and logistics industries. With the construction firm Andersons, they planned new housing estates.

With NHS staff they learned how to apply basic first aid and take blood pressure readings. They found out all about the world of logistics and the reasons why KFC recently failed so badly and they used virtual reality headsets to look inside manufacturing plants.

All in all, a really useful and productive day. A big thank you to Mrs Vitone for organising this event.
