Return to School - March 2021

Face Masks

The DfE are now recommending that face coverings should be worn by staff and students in all indoor areas where social distancing cannot be maintained. This includes corridors and classrooms. Face coverings do not need to be worn by students when they are outside. Please could students be provided with at least two plain masks every day which should be kept in a clean plastic bag in their blazer pocket.

Attendance is mandatory for all students and the usual rules on school attendance will apply. The only exception to this is for those children who have been medically assessed as clinically extremely vulnerable.

Your cooperation is requested to ensure that students return in correct uniform. Any false or painted nails, false eyelashes or piercings (facial or otherwise) must all be removed before returning. Please ensure that hair colouring is a natural colour as specified in our uniform policy.

Food in School

Unfortunately we are still not in a position to provide hot food, however for any FSM students or parents who wish to purchase a packed lunch pre orders should be placed by midnight on Thursday 4 March and then each Thursday on a weekly basis using this form. Please ensure there is sufficient money on your ParentPay account.

Safe Return Plans - March 2021

Students will be zoned in year groups in different parts of the school. Each year group will have a separate entrance/exit to the site, an indoor space, outdoor space, dedicated IT room and toilets. Students must remain in these zones and staff will move to different classrooms to teach.

Handwashing stations will be located in each zone and students will be asked to wash their hands before they go to their zones and at each break time. Hand sanitisers will be in each classroom as well as spray cleaners. Students will be expected to wipe down their desk and chair at the end of each lesson. Cleaners will be on site throughout the day cleaning empty classrooms, toilets, corridors, door handles and changing rooms.

All students must bring their own equipment. Please make sure that over the summer you purchase a plentiful supply so that they are never short of equipment as they will not be allowed to share.

If a student feels unwell, the teacher will email the Student Services Receptionist who will attend to the child in the classroom. If a student feels unwell and is considered to have coronavirus symptoms, they will be isolated and parents/carers will be asked to collect their child immediately.

We are encouraging all students to bring a packed lunch as there will be no hot food available in school. We will provide a packed lunch for any student entitled to free school meals and there will be a weekly pre ordering system should anyone else need to purchase one.

To ease congestion at the end of the day, students in Year 7, 8 and 9 will leave at 2.45pm and students in Year 10, 11, 12 and 13 will leave at 2.55pm. The car park gates will therefore be closed from 2.35pm onwards.

Parents/carers will not be permitted on site unless they have an appointment. If your child has left an important item at home (such as their lunch), please telephone or email the main office ( to arrange a time to bring this in.
