Thursday and Friday
In English, we will be learning to improve our descriptive writing skills and exploring relative clauses in particular through a variety of different writing styles.
Our first novel we are reading is “Billy the Kid” – a brilliant Michael Morpurgo book about a boy who sacrifices his dreams of playing for Chelsea to fight
In Mathematics we will be learning to:
- · read and write numbers up to 1 million (1,000,000) in both numerals and words
- · Increase the speed of our mental recall for the whole 12 time tables (including multiplying and division facts)
- · Read and write Roman numerals (X, D, M etc.)

In Design and Technology we will be learning about sculptures linked to our topic of Ancient Greece and Myths and Legends.
Our first topic in Science is Forces – who will be the first Scientist of the week.
Reading is an essential life-long skill and so this will be a key focus for us this term.
Home learning: Reading diaries and Number books should be completed to a high standard every day.
Additional tasks will be set via the Marvellous Me app – make sure you’re signed up!
In R.E we will be learning about Sikhism and what important skills for life this religion can teach us.
In Science we will be learning about Forces (gravity, friction, air and water resistance) and the children will explore this through weekly investigations.
