Welcome to Year 4 - Juniper
Our PE Days:
Monday and Friday
We will be swimming every Friday. Please remember to bring your swimming kit.
Our first topic this year is 'Footprints from the Past‘.
We will be practising our research skills to find out about dinosaurs and fossils and how the earth has changed over time. We can't wait to become palaeontologists and find out about how and when dinosaurs lived! In science, we will be learning about forces and magnets and we are very eager to be undertaking some exciting experiments linked to our learning.
The novel we are studying this half-term in English is 'I Was a Rat' by Philip Pullman. We will be working hard to create our own transformation tale and learn new skills to improve our writing. Perhaps you could read some transformation tales (a story where the character overcomes some difficulty such as Cinderella) together at home and share them with the class?
In maths we will be learning about the number system and numbersequences as well as improving our arithmetic skills. A secure knowledge of times tables is really important so keep practicing these at home!
Positivity is key, remember to encourage your child to try their best in everything they do!
Meet our class!
