Social/Training Events for Parents

If you are the parent or carer of a young person at Columbus, why not come along to one of our regular Social Meetings? They are an ideal opportunity for all parents and carers to get together informally for refreshments and a chat.

The dates of these meetings for this academic year are as follows:

18th October 9.30am School Campus

15th January 1.30pm College Campus

5th March 9.30am School Campus

14th May 1.30pm College Campus

9th July 9.30am School Campus

It is important to note that, at these events, we also provide training for our parents and carers and an opportunity for them to have input into what is provided for their child and their family as a whole. We update parents and carers on new school issues and provide training and consultation with key support groups within the local community. We do hope you will be able to come along to as many of these Social Meetings as possible. Invitations will be sent to all parents and carers prior to each meeting with more information about what is planned; often the meetings follow a theme and other professionals are invited to contribute.

The meetings are hosted by the Principal or our Family Support Workers depending on the topic for the meeting.

Siblings are very welcome to attend but we regret we cannot provide supervision.

There’s always a plentiful supply of tea, coffee and biscuits plus a small selection of cold drinks.

There is no charge for attendance or refreshments.
