Academy Building Works commencing January 2019

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you have all had a relaxing break and enjoyed some quality family time.

As you know this term our second building project will commence. This is a much larger project which will bring much needed additional space to our growing academy. The builders have already commenced work and have sectioned off a large area of the playground. This means we have to change some of our entrance and exit points for certain classes.

Below are the classes which will be impacted.

Rowling - children will enter and exit via the Main office. Children are not to go into the main playground at the beginning or end of the day. Parents who collect children may wait outside the main reception door. Miss Eavers will bring the children to this collection point.

Holst/ Wilson/ Lee/ Edwards and King-Smith - children will enter and leave via their classroom doors at the front of the academy. Children are not to go into the main playground at the beginning or end of the day. Parents are to enter the academy site through the gates beside the main entrance. These gates will be opened at 8:30am and 2:50pm each day. Children will then leave directly from their classrooms.

If your child is not in any of these classes, then they are able to enter and exit as per normal. Both the playground gate and the playing field gate will continue to be opened at the usual time.

Breakfast club - if your child is attending breakfast club they will need to access this via the main office. There will not be any access to the dining room via the playground. Please note that breakfast club will continue to open at 8am. If you accompany your child to Breakfast club you will need to exit via Main office door.

As always health and safety is a key priority for us, please be assured that we will be in constant communication with the builders ensuring that the health and safety of your child is in no way compromised. On Monday we shall be conducting a fire drill to check that everyone can continue to exit the site safety. Due to the building works these drills will be completed more regularly than normal. The builders will also be attending assembly in the next couple of weeks to talk to the children about site safety. I would also urge you all to be extra vigilant and if you notice and health and safety concerns to notify a member of academy staff as soon as possible.

Thank you all in advance for your cooperation as we enter this exciting time of expansion at Brockworth Primary.

We look forward to welcoming you and your child back on Monday.

Best wishes

Miss Briggs
