Year 10 Work Experience 2020

All Year 10 students will be expected to attend a week of Work Experience week commencing Monday 30 March 2020.

All students will be issued with a WEX form, letter and timeline. These can also be accessed at the bottom of this page or may be collected from Mrs Quinn in the Exams Office. In addition, there are two guides to the whole process, one for students and another for parents/carers, which can be accessed at the bottom of the page.

All blue WEX forms should be returned to Mrs Quinn in the Exams Office.

Click on Search

You will get a screen like this:

From here you can tick the industries you are interested in and search for possible placements. You can also search for a specific company, or in certain postcode areas.

Within a job placement you can get a detailed description of the activities involved, see contact details and click on the Journey Planner to map your travel to the company whether via bus, train or walking etc.

Please note that if you add it to Selections, this just saves it for you. It does NOT contact the employer or tell them you are interested in the placement.

Also just because they are on the website, does not mean they are in a position to offer a placement. It just means they have done at some point.

All placements MUST be approved by the EBP. All placements must be recorded and signed on the blue WEX form. They will then be entered onto the system and await approval. Most placements will need to be visited by the H&S company to ensure it is safe for the students to attend. This is why the deadlines are so important and must be adhered to please.

Students should contact their tutor, Mrs Quinn or Mr Jackson if they have any questions.
