Sixth Form Open Evening (7/11/19)
On Thursday 7th November, we have our Sixth Form Open Evening. Students will get a chance to learn more about our great Sixth Form; the opportunities that are available , the outcomes that you can achieve and the support and guidance that will be given. You will have the chance to speak with subject teachers and students who are undertaking the subject to obtain a more in depth understanding of the course that you would like to study. There will be external providers present for you to engage with, so please take the opportunity to attend. The event starts at 5:30pm, with talks beginning at 5:45pm and 6:45pm and concludes at 7:30pm
We look forward to seeing your son/daughter at the event. Should you require any further information about any of the above please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Year 13 Higher Education Evening (16/10/19)
The Sixth Form Team will be hosting a Higher Education event for year 13 students and parents/carers. The evening is designed to help parents support their children through the long and often complex process of applying for university, apprenticeships and other opportunities. We held a similar evening last year and we felt that it made a very significant difference to the quality of students’ applications, while reducing some of the pressures on students preparing for major exams. We very much hope that all students will attend with a parent, older sibling, or carer.
Short presentations will be made on the following topics.
- Apprenticeship and Employment Pathways
- Higher Education and The Application Process
- Student Finance
We look forward to working with your son/daughter to help prepare them to make a successful transition from Year 13. Should you require any further information about any of the above please contact email@example.com.
National Enterprise Challenge 2019
Congratulations to Cory Brown, Evie Scott, Tullulah Lee, and Ricky To in Year 10 on their fantastic achievements on the 10th July at the National Enterprise Challenge Finals held at Wembley Stadium hosted by David Banjo, Perri Kiely and Dragons' Den star, Theo Paphitis.
Firstly, we offer our congratulations for reaching the UK final in the first place and secondly for being chosen and announced as one of the Top 5 from the 1500 finalist entries for their business pitch which involved an enthusiastic and collaborative delivery to 3 UCFB judges, the audience of the main event, and those celebrity faces.
Well done to you all.
A Festival of Remarkable Lives
On 4th July, at the Derngate Theatre, Northampton, staff and pupils of the 62 different AET academies came together for A Festival of Remarkable Lives.
The Festival was a celebration event and the grand finale of a year-long programme called Our Remarkable World in 10 Years Time, launched to mark 10 years of AET and to help bring to life our collective vision of inspiring each and every child to choose a remarkable life.
This was a fun-packed, performance-led, entertaining Festival hosted by CBBC stars Sam and Mark and here you can see a short taster video about the Festival. Thank you to our students who made it such a memorable trip and a special well done to our own Katie Furlong for scooping the Remarkable Arts award for Key Stage 5.
