KS1 SATS workshop- March 2019

On 13th March, parents of children in Y2 were invited into school for a workshop in classes, followed by a presentation about SATS in the hall. Discover Our Value for this Half Term - February 2019

The value we will be focusing on this half term is: DISCOVER WHAT'S POSSIBLE - We have linked this to the book 'The Owl who was Afraid of the Dark' by Jill Tomlinson because the owl character 'Plop' overcomes his fear of the dark and discovers a world of possibilities.

We are on the search for discovering what's possible. At Anglesey Primary Academy we look to create 'eureka moments' for our pupils, helping them discover a world of possibilities and opportunities.

'Remarkable Lives' Launch! - January 2019

We have now launched our new Mission, Vision and Values. The children have enjoyed watching the video and thinking about 'Remarkable' people in their lives. We have also introduced our 'Remarkable Lives' assembly, every Friday and have created awards and stickers. Thank you to our staff that have created a beautiful 'Remarkable Lives' display in the school entrance. This is the 'Be Unusually Brave' value.

School Council deliver an assembly - January 2019

Our School Council have delivered an important environmental message to the whole school. They encouraged the children to consider the negative impact of littering and how they can help. They have set up a 'litter picking' scheme - each year group will take turns to use the newly purchased litter picking equipment to tackle litter onsite. Everyone has a responsibility to put their litter in the bin! Please help us to achieve a litter-free school.

We hope you can spare a few minutes to watch the Powerpoint they created.

Gareth Southgate Visits Anglesey! - October 2018

England Manager, Gareth Southgate, surprised unsuspecting pupils at Anglesey. He was interested in seeing the pitch facilities at Anglesey and wanted to find out how they benefit pupils and the local community. The children were delighted to be able to play football with Gareth and even had the opportunity to ask him some questions.

Peer Mentors and Playground Pals - November 2018

Today we had an assembly all about Happy, Healthy Lunchtimes. We introduced our Peer Mentors and Playground Pals who are trained to support and help children on the KS2 and KS1 playgrounds when they are feeling lonely or sad. This is the presentation from our assembly where we talked about the importance of following rules in order to have a happy, healthy and safe lunchtime. A big thank you to all of our Peer Mentors and Playground Pals who are doing a brilliant job of supporting children and ensuring everyone enjoys their lunchtime.
