Two of our primary schools, Lea Forest Primary Academy and Montgomery Primary Academy, have been named as among the top-performing primary schools in Birmingham for the 2022-23 academic year. The schools came 3rd and 4th when ranked alongside all other primaries in the city.
The recently published data highlights the high academic performance of Montgomery and Lea Forest, where 89% and 88% of pupils, respectively, met the expected standard in reading, writing, and maths at KS2 last year.
This news comes shortly after Lea Forest received a letter from Damian Hinds, Minister for Schools, congratulating their children and staff for their exceptional phonics outcomes, which brought the school into the top 4% of all primaries in the country.
A huge congratulations to all the staff, students and families of these two excellent schools, which are improving lives for the young people of Birmingham.
Ruth Murad, Regional Education Director for the Midlands, said:
"These rankings show just how brilliantly Lea Forest and Montgomery are performing for their communities in the Midlands. We are so proud of these two exceptional schools in Birmingham, well done to all the students and staff for their hard work and dedication."
