The Wellness & Testing Center (WTC) provides various support services of the school through the Guidance Counselors who are committed to help and assist the pupils, parents and guardians in making life-enhancing changes, instilling hope, building resilience, and to address the needs of the whole person – in heart, mind, and spirit. Despite the challenges of this global pandemic, the guidance counselors continue to deliver the guidance and counseling services with passion and dedication.

Counseling is a professional relationship that empowers diverse individuals, families, and groups to accomplish mental health, wellness, education, and career goals. (counseling.org). The counselor journeys with the pupil in whatever experience he/she is going through. Counseling is conducted using interactive audio or video and email.

The Homeroom Guidance activities are designed to help the pupils know better and understand their emotions so they can come up with better decisions in life. Pupils are also taught essential life skills, such as study skills and leadership skills.

This service allows the counselor to assist the students in knowing their interests, strengths, work values, and aspirations and helps them make informed decisions about their subject choices and pathways. These will be explored through webinars, podcasts, and other online platforms.

During this Covid-19 crisis, we make sure that this quarantine will not get in the way of reaching out to others seeking help when it comes to their mental health. With physical distancing as a pre-requisite, the ADDU GS-SDC is offering Online Psychological First Aid to the community.
