LHS Model United Nations
Hey everyone! Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!
Welcome to Legacy High School's Model UN Website! Model UN is an educational simulation of the United Nations where students:
investigate various past and present international issues (e.g. humanitarian crises, political conflicts, disarmament)
research foreign policy and international relations
engage in interactive conferences and advocate on behalf of specific nations.
improve and exercise debating, writing, critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership skills
to allow them to develop a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of current world issues.
If you are interested in any of these things, then Model UN is the club for you!
Why Should You Join Model UN?
Meet amazing students from across the state and the nation!
Improve your speaking, writing, arguing, teamwork, analytical, and leadership skills!
Learn about current and past international issues
Roleplay as ambassadors in the UN!
Travel and have fun with friends!
Looks great on college applications! (Harvard and Yale give special consideration to applicants with MUN experience!)
Meeting Times
Legacy Model UN tentatively plans to meet in-person and weekly on Tuesdays after school in the library. Meetings will start at around 3:15 and go on for 15-45 minutes depending on the agenda.
Members are expected to participate in some conferences (usually on Saturdays, reference the Colorado MUN website for date details) and meeting discussions.
