Amador High Special Education Department Staff:

The Special Education Department works to ensure the effective education and educational success for students with disabilities who are eligible for special education and related services under state and federal laws and regulations. Special education is available for eligible children and youth from 3 to age 22. To refer a child suspected of being disabled or for more information on special education services, contact the Amador High Special Education Department at 257-7325.

Information Regarding Section 504: Procedural Safeguards

Section 504 is an Act that prohibits discrimination against persons with a disability. The regulations implementing the Act define a person with a 50 disability as anyone who:

  1. Has a mental or physical impairment which substantially limits one or more life activities (education is a major life activity);
  2. Has a record of such impairment; or
  3. Is regarding as having such an impairment.
