We are delighted to share some fantastic news with our community.
Thanks to the incredible dedication of our volunteers, the ongoing support of our partners and supporters, and the hard work of the Hub team, we have successfully secured new funding to expand our impact across Northamptonshire.
This investment will enable us to build on the success of existing initiatives, including Move Towcester, Move Semilong & Kingsley, and Move Brixworth, helping even more people connect, move, and improve their wellbeing within their local communities.
We're also excited to be working in partnership with the county's library service to create new opportunities for children, young people and families. Through Action for Happiness at Libraries, Family Hubs and schools, we will be supporting communities in Rushden, Desborough and Towcester, helping to nurture wellbeing, resilience, kindness and connection from an early age.
This is a wonderful example of the ripple effect in action. Every volunteer hour, every conversation, every act of kindness and every partnership contributes to something bigger. Together, we are creating stronger, healthier and happier communities where people can thrive.
This vital expansion has been made possible through a tapestry of incredible grants and local support. Our hyper-local movement groups have received tailored backing to keep driving impact right where it matters. The Move Towcester project is proudly enabled by the Towcester Park Community Fund via the Northamptonshire Community Foundation. In Semilong & Kingsley, our work is championed by Councillor Farzana Aldridge of Northampton Town Council alongside West Northamptonshire Council, while Move Brixworth has been enabled directly by the Brixworth Parish Council.
Beyond our physical movement projects, this funding allows us to strengthen our foundational network. The development of our vital Community of Practice is supported by the Community Mental Health Prevention and Wellbeing Grant from the West Northamptonshire Council Public Health team.
Furthermore, we are deeply invested in nurturing the next generation. Our new Children and Young People Happiness Hubs are enabled by the Mental Health Prevention Grant via the Northants Mental Health Collaboration, alongside the Mental Health Learning Disability & Autism Population Health & Prevention Pillar Funding. Finally, the strategic development of our overarching Northamptonshire Hub has been successfully backed by the National Lottery Awards for All funding.
With this incredible structural support in place, our attention now turns to action on the ground. We are actively looking for local residents, passionate volunteers, and community leaders in these regions who want to help us facilitate these new spaces, libraries, and school programs. Whether you have an hour a month or an hour a week, your unique contribution can help turn this funding into lasting, local smiles.
