• Is there an online orientation I need to attend? 

Yes. You will receive an email invitation and meeting link to the orientation with your instructors.

• Do I need to attend the Passport to Medicine Info Session?

Not at this time. You will receive an invitation to a Passport to Medicine Info session during the mdDirect online semester. 

• Can I work while in the mdDirect program? 

No. Without a doubt the program is rigorous. Your focus and attention will need to be on the program if you want to maximize your academic performance.

• What happens when the mdDirect course ends? Do I automatically get promoted into the MD program? 

The Admissions Committee will reconvene after the mdDirect program concludes to evaluate the academic and professional progress of students in the mdDirect program. The Committee will recommend for students for promotion into the MD 4-year program according to the student's ability to perform academically and professionally.

• After I complete the mdDirect ONLINE program successfully, what do I need to do next?

Make sure you have attend the Passport to Medicine Info Session you will be invited to.  Complete all of the steps on the MD Accepted Students Portal. You may choose to start these steps prior to the conclusion of the mdDirect program so you have more time to gather and submit documents before the start of the MD program. Note: you must be promoted by the Admissions Committee in order to attend the MD program. Completing the mdDirect program is not guaranteed entry. 

• Option 1

Start Date:  Mar 23, 2026 online

End Date: Jul 1, 2026  

Successful completion and promotion from mdDirect would be a July/August 2026 MD start date.

Successful completion and promotion from mdDirect would be a January 2027 MD start date.
