"Hi everyone, my name is Sharline R. Law, and I’m a medical student here at the American Canadian School of Medicine in Dominica, where I currently serve as the Student Government Association President and a Student Ambassador. Before starting medical school, I spent several years working in emergency medicine, an experience that deepened my passion for patient care, leadership, and service. That journey ultimately led me here to ACSOM. In my roles as SGA President and Student Ambassador, I enjoy connecting with prospective and incoming students, helping navigate the path into medical school, and working to build a supportive and collaborative community on campus. I truly believe that becoming a physician is about more than academics; it’s about resilience, compassion, and the commitment to serve others."
As a non-traditional student, mother, and former ER Trauma RN, I understand that many students come to medicine through unique and sometimes challenging paths. If you have questions about balancing family, transitioning from another healthcare career, or navigating medical school as a non-traditional student, please feel free to reach out. I’m always happy to share my experiences and offer support.
