SAT and ACT Test Registration:

SAT : Register at http://sat.org/register

ACT: Register at http://www.actstudent.org/ **All students take the ACT in March of their Junior year during a scheduled school day. Please keep the score report you receive after this ACT so that you can use the ID # to send your scores to colleges**

Test Day Information

Remember to Bring: ID (school ID or license), admission ticket, Two #2 pencils and a calculator

Be at the school between 7:30 and 7:45!!

Testing at AHS/SILSA will be in the main building.


Paying for the SAT and ACT

Payment information for the SAT and ACT is available on the sites where you register for the tests. Qualifying students can receive up to 2 SAT fee waivers and 2 ACT fee waivers during their high school matriculation. To quality for fee waivers, students a) have free/reduced lunch plan; b) are on a government, income based assistance program or; c) are enrolled in a federal program for low-income students. Preparing for the SAT and ACT

The Counseling Department recommends beginning to take the SAT/ACT your junior year and continuing to take them in your senior year if you would like to improve on your scores. Take the ACT or SAT at least twice so that colleges can "Superscore" you (take the highest scores from each section).


The College Board has great resources for preparing for the SAT, including questions of the day sent straight to your phone and practice tests. Check out http://sat.collegeboard.org/practice to help you get the highest score you can.

Registering Late for the SAT or SAT

If you are registering for the SAT after the above mentioned deadlines, you still have time to submit a registration, but you must pay a late fee. Late registrations made by mail have a different deadline from those made by phone or online. Please see websites for late registration deadlines and fees.
