Drama Program Overview
The Drama Program at ACIT strives to prepare students in the Performing Arts Academy with the tools and skills needed to pursue further education and careers in the field of theatre. The Drama Program will expose students to the performance, production, and literary aspects of theatre.
Students in the program will study a variety of techniques, and perform in a wide array of theatrical styles. The performance curriculum will include the various dynamic aspects of the actor in preparation and performance. The production curriculum will include the practical aspects of planning, designing, constructing, and directing a production. The literary curriculum will include a study of the history of theatre and a reading analysis of the different genre of dramatic literature within that historical context. An ongoing objective of the course will be an awareness and appreciation of good theatre and the desire to continue as an intelligent participant in, or observer of, the oldest form of human creative endeavor.
About Mrs. Korey
vkorey@acitech.orgI am thrilled to join the esteemed faculty of ACIT's Performing Arts Program! Having performed in musicals and operas nationwide, my true passion is teaching and sharing the craft of acting with others. Teaching is not just my profession; it is my passion and my highest joy. To learn more about my professional background and qualifications, please feel free to visit my teaching porfolio. Ultimately, I aim to equip my students to be highly functioning, empathetic members of society, who leave the world better than they found it. Not every student who enters my classroom will choose to pursue a career in the theatre, but every student will use the skills they learn there daily.
