Curriculum

To address all facets of the building industry, ACE Mentor Program offers two program options. The availability of each is dependent on the specific team locations each season, and which program each team is following:

Traditional AEC

The traditional ACE Mentor Program curriculum introduces students to the full scope of a design and construction project. The program follows concept design through engineering considerations then cost estimating and construction.

This program highlights how buildings progress from a conceptual idea to a physical structure, and explains how each member of the team is important in the . Weekly activities include sketching, space programming, civil and structural analysis, HVAC design, cost estimating, and construction scheduling. Students will be introduced to BIM (building information modeling) and new emerging technologies in design and construction.

Each team works on a group project, developing a solution to the Annual Design Challenge.
