Moodle 3.8 Overview

We will upgrading our Moodle site to 3.8 on August 6. This page highlights some of the updates and tools included in Moodle 3.8.

• The Discussion Forum has been updated to allow for forum grading, in addition to the ratings option. Forums will also include a summary report that can be used to view student activity in the forums on the number of replies sent, posts created, and other data.

• H5P is now integrated with Moodle. You may not see a big difference in the way the H5P activity looks, but it should resolve some of the glitches we have experienced in using this tool.

• Two new learner analytics have been added that allow instructors to easily identify and contact students that have not accessed the course. This includes an Analytics Insight report.

• Moodle 3.8 includes more emoji support. These can be used in messaging and text editors.

• New calendar filters allow you to filter your course calendar by month, day or upcoming event.

• Moodle will now provide alert message before your Moodle session times out.
