During the mid-fall of a student's sophomore year, he or she, along with his or her parents will need to choose a pathway to graduation. In Louisiana, there are currently two main pathways to graduation:
The University Pathway
The Jump Start Pathway.
The University Pathway should be chosen if:
The student's plans for after graduation are to attend a four-year college or university immediately after high school.
To graduate in this pathway, the student will need to obtain
24 credits and pass the required End of Course assessments.
The coursework in this pathway, along with having the required ACT score and grade point average, will make the student eligible for the TOPS Opportunity, Performance, or Honors Awards.
The Jump Start Pathway should be chosen if:
The student does not plan to attend a 4-year college or university IMMEDIATELY after high school.
The student is eligible to attend a community or technical college of their choice.
The student WILL be able to attend a four-year college or university after a one-year period at a community or technical college.
As part of the Jump Start Pathway, the student will choose an area of concentration. Currently, Crowley High School offers 3 areas of concentration which include the following:
Hospitality (Family Consumer Sciences)
Business
Agriculture
To graduate in this pathway, the student will need to obtain
23 credits, pass the required End of Course assessments.
Achieve a silver on the Work Keys assessment, and obtain the Industry Based Certifications that are specific to his or her area of concentration.
Graduating in this pathway, along with having the required ACT or Work Keys score and grade point average, will make the student eligible for the TOPS Tech Award
