Rigid Body Dynamics

Course Objectives

This course is intended for engineering students. The is intended to introduce the student to the fundamentals of planar rigid body dynamics.

Course Intended Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Analyze rigid bodies in translation in a plane
  2. Analyze rigid bodies in rotation in a plane
  3. Analyze rigid bodies in general motion in a plane
  4. Apply energy principles to analyze the planar motion of rigid bodies
  5. Understand the fundamentals of one dimensional vibrations
  6. Develop online communication and presentation skills
