What is Language Arts?

In Elementary School, Language Arts is taught as a single subject and includes reading, spelling, literature, and composition. It aims to develop a student's comprehension and capacity for use of written and oral language. 

What it means to me: sparking a love for literacy in every student. It means giving them the skills they need to excel in every other subject in school and life, because literacy is everywhere we look. They say knowledge is power, but the real power comes from a love for knowledge! And my goal is for my students to love learning.
