Dear Students, Parents, Faculty and Staff,

As you are aware we have been working toward building a new Maumelle Charter High School. During the spring we experienced a setback due to the property we are planning to purchase having possible wetlands. We have since rectified this issue and the Corp of Engineers has granted permission to build the school on the property. Because of this delay the construction timeline has shifted. We now plan to close on the property no later than the first week of November, break ground in November, complete construction by May 31, 2022 and occupy with students in August 2022.

Thank you to Congressman French Hill and his staff for helping motivate the Corp of Engineers for a decision concerning the wetland permit. Without help we may still be waiting.

The new high school will be located on White Oak Crossing directly behind the Maumelle baseball complex on 38.2 acres.

Because of the new school the grade configurations of the current schools will be modified beginning with the 2022-2023 school year. Grade levels attending the three schools will be as follows:

• The current elementary building will serve grades Kindergarten – 3rd.

• The current high school building will become Maumelle Charter Middle School (MCMS) serving grades 4th – 7th.

• The new high school building will serve grades 8th – 12th.
