Screenings at School

There are normal screenings that will occur during the school year.

• Vision Screenings are provided for all 3rd and 5th Grade Students.

• Colgate Dental Bus will visit the school for students in Pre-K through 5th grade. This program is sponsored by Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures Program. A local dentist will exam the students, they will receive some dental health information, and toothbrush/info to bring home. Students must have a signed permission form to be able to visit the Dental van. Contact the Nurse if you need a permission form.

• The Department of Public Health screens all Kindergarten students. A dental screening is provided by a dental hygienist.

• School personnel who observe symptoms of a possible communicable disease should contact the student’s parent or guardian. School staff may consult with the school nurse regarding a suspected communicable condition. Follow-up is provided as needed.
