Organization name: Mebane Youth Soccer Association (MYSA)
Purpose/mission: The Mebane Youth Soccer Association (MYSA) provides a variety of youth soccer programs to Mebane area youth in Orange and Alamance counties.
Population served: Children as young as 4 and as old as 18. We have a TOPSoccer program for special needs children.
Services/programs/resources offered:
TOPSoccer: The Outreach Program for Soccer, which is a community-based training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities, organized by youth soccer association volunteers. The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl, who has a mental or physical disability.
TOTS Program: This program is awesome for the 2.5 - 4 years old looking to interact with others, get physical fitness and motor skills in!
Recreation Soccer: The MYSA Recreational Soccer program is our most popular program, providing a local soccer experience for players aged 4 to 18. This instructional soccer program provides a soccer development environment for players of all skill levels.
Classic Soccer: As players get older and develop, many want to play in a more competitive environment with an increased level of coaching and development. The next level of soccer above Recreation offered by MYSA is Classic soccer which is overseen by NC Youth Soccer who sets the competitive divisions for teams and clubs participating throughout North Carolina. Generally, the amount of travel involved is usually quite low with travel times of 15-90 minutes to 4-5 ‘away’ games per season, depending on age group and competitive level.
Academy Soccer: MYSA’s Academy program is designed to provide an introduction to travel soccer and a more rigorous training environment for U7-U10 aged players who are looking to take the next step in soccer. The goals for Academy are to establish an environment where individual player development is emphasized with a focus on developing the technical skills needed to play at higher levels in the future.
Costs/requirements to participate:
Varies depending on program
The Mebane Youth Soccer Association has a financial aid program in place to help families in need meet the costs of playing soccer. Assistance is available for both Recreational and Travel level players.
