Direct Supports: The First In Families local Chapters offer support to families and individuals according to their self-defined needs. Examples of supports include computers, home furnishings or modifications, childcare or respite, or repairs to vehicles. Support can also be the connecting of an individual to vocational, social, and educational opportunities in the community; whatever it takes - for people to live and participate fully in their community.
Alamance county's local chapter is the FIF Lifeline Project
Lifetime Connections: Lifetime Connections offers unique supports and future planning services to people with all types of disabilities and their families. We provide an alternative or addition to traditional services, through a membership based set of services tailored to each individual or family.
7 Steps In 7 Sessions: Lifetime Connections Workshop: The 7 Steps In 7 Sessions: Creating Peace of Mind for the Future workshop provides a small group setting in which you will be guided through reading, exercises, and discussion resulting in a personal future plan. The future planning process helps you create a safe and secure future for your family member with a disability.
Supporting Siblings: First In Families of North Carolina (FIFNC) has partnered with the National Sibling Leadership Network (SLN) to develop a chapter of the Sibling Leadership Network in North Carolina.
