Library Events

Make sure to check our homepage and social media for the latest on what's going on in the ABRHS Library.

Below are some examples of events we host:

Summer Reading Celebration: As a fun way to kick off the year and promote a love of reading, the library hosts this event in September for staff and students. This event morphs every year, so details may differ, but it's a fun time to come together to talk about what you read over the summer and what you're looking forward to reading next!

Blind Date With A Book: Don't judge a book by its cover! The week before February break, we wrap up books, sometimes with clues, and encourage staff and students to take a chance on a "blind date" over break. "Rate Your Date" slips can be filled out and returned to the library for small prizes.

World Read Aloud Day: There is nothing quite like being read to. Teachers and staff read aloud from favorite children's books during this event, and sometimes, students get up, too!

Author Visits

We love to bring authors in to talk to our students! These events range from school-wide talks to writing workshops to classroom visits.

These visits are funded by a gift from the Friends of the Acton Libraries.

Authors who have visited AB:

Nova Ren Suma (Fall 2018)

Katie Bayerl (Winter/Spring 2018)

Julie Berry (Spring 2017)

Michelle Knudsen (Fall 2016)
