These words from the Preamble to the Constitution have lost their luster in our day, but thanks to the American Pulpit, endured for two-and-a-half centuries as the primary mission of healthy Government. Pastors led the way in giving birth to the godliest, most prosperous, most generous, most prolific missionary-sending Christian republic in human history. We are calling pastors everywhere to embrace their legacy and champion liberty for current and future generations of Americans.

What Is The America's Black Robe Regiment
America’s Black Robe Regiment is a network of pastors and religious leaders who strive to safeguard liberty. We believe that today’s leaders must step into their God-given duty of leading not just from the pulpit, but in communities and government as well. This echoes the actions of America’s first pastors, whose strong beliefs led and won the revolution.
Tyranny must be abolished. As a local leader, people are counting on you and we believe it is your duty to hold government leaders accountable.

Members of the Maryland chapter are active in speaking in defense of Family Values, Religious Liberty, and Constitutional Literacy at our School Boards, Halls of Government, and public venues where the Christian voice needs to be heard.

The Maryland Chapter of America's Black Robe Regiment is charged with conveying the message and goals of the ABRR National movement into the State of Maryland and recruiting like-minded Pastors to the mission of defending freedom, and religious liberties, as well as being an active voice in the matters affecting our local communities, children, and families.

Pastors and Ministry Leaders of America's Black Robe Regiment Commit to the charge of the Gideon's 300 Pledge
Gideon’s 300 Pledge Preamble
Whereas Liberty being sacred, is the Gift of God, bestowed by Jesus Christ upon His Church, the “bride of Christ; and
Whereas Liberty being sacred is the Church’s sacred trust; and
Whereas the Church as the “light of the world” and “salt of the earth” (Matthew 5:13-16) is sole curator, trustee, or steward of the civil society and keeper of the Blessings of Liberty; and
Whereas the “children of disobedience” being actuated by “the prince of the power of the air” (Eph. 2:2-3) are incapable of understanding, much less securing the Blessings of Liberty; and
Whereas temporal governance in the hands of the children of disobedience inevitably devolves into absolute despotism; and
Whereas my sacred duty to secure the Blessings of Liberty to my own generation extends to Posterity; and
Whereas the temporal state of my flock is as much my concern as their eternal state.
Gideon’s 300 Pledge
I will, with the help of God,
Not separate my role as a shepherd from matters that have a direct bearing on the temporal or eternal welfare of my flock, nor my role as their shepherd from the deliberations and actions of Civil Government.
Preach the “whole counsel of God,” including a minimum of one election sermon in advance of upcoming elections.
Instill in my flock a biblical worldview by teaching all the principles in Holy Scripture, including those that pertain to proper government and Godly citizenship.
Teach my flock that voting in every election for the godliest candidate(s) is a sacred duty incumbent upon every individual professing faith in Jesus Christ.
Adjure Every member of voting age within my flock to register and turn out to vote in every election.
Provide ample opportunities for every member of voting age within my flock to register to vote by published registration deadlines.
Seek to partner with fellow pastors in my local community to establish and maintain a culture of Liberty within our local churches and within our local community.

Rev. Steve Hofmeister has been actively serving in the Christian ministry since 2019. He serves as Prayer Deacon with Charm City Church in Abingdon, Maryland, and Maryland Executive Board Chaplain for the Maryland Republican Assembly.
Steve is an outspoken advocate of Family Values, Religious Liberty, 2nd Amendment Rights, and Constitutional Literacy, serving as a Lifetime Constitution Coach with Patriot Academy.
