“Fostering an individual’s desire for education, opportunity, and independence.”

Our Programs

Albuquerque Adult Learning Center, Inc. was named the New Mexico Higher Education Department Adult Basic Education Division’s 2010 Program of the Year. We offer student-focused Adult Basic Education and High School Equivalency (HSE) preparation classes in a small class environment with morning, afternoon, and evening options. Thanks to the generosity of the following partners, Bernalillo County, City of Albuquerque, and United Way, our community-based organization operates out of various community/resource centers and computer labs, serving over 225 students in some of the most under-served areas within Albuquerque.

Our Students

Our population is predominantly Hispanic (73%); of those, 72% are women, of which 42% are single parents.

  • 63% of our Adult Secondary Education (ASE/GED) program obtained their HSEC!
  • The # 1 predictor of school success and a child staying in school is parental involvement; educated parents create educated children!

Our Need

  • Over 400,000 adults in New Mexico need Adult Basic Education (ABE)
  • Got an older computer, laptop, or tablet around your home? We could sure use it!
